About Us
Mad Hatter Farm, owned and operated by Jeff and Alix Townley, is an all natural vegetable farm located in Connecticut’s Litchfield Hills. We practice sustainable farming, using no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Our goal is to produce fresh, delicious vegetables and fruits of the highest quality for ourselves, our neighbors and the community. We are members of CT NOFA (Connecticut chapter of Northeast Organic Farming Association) and have signed the "Farmer's Pledge" which states that we farm in a sustainable earth-friendly manner in keeping with the National Organic Program. We are also WIC (Women Infant and Children) Certified which means that in the state of Connecticut we accept WIC checks.

About the Farmers
Jeff, who studied history at Roanoke College and has an advanced degree in turf management from Rutgers University, loves golfing, fresh powder days and "piddling" in the garden. Alix, who studied English literature at Skidmore College and has an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business, rides hunter-jumper horses and loves cookies. After successful careers in golf course management and sports marketing, Jeff and Alix decided to become farmers. Moving from the dairy lands of Wisconsin to the rocky hills of Connecticut, they have created Mad Hatter Farm, named after the character from Alice in Wonderland.
