What's for Dinner in Connecticut, September III
Dear Mad Hatters,
Do you ever hit that wall when you cannot figure out what to have for dinner? Whether you are single or feeding a family, sometimes eating can get boring. What's a person to do?
Well, just stop on by your local farmer's market and ask the farmer for some ideas. Try a vegetable you've never had before, or get some new ideas for a vegetable you love. Talk to your farmers - they are full of good ideas! Steamed green beans with balsamic viniagrette, roasted brussel sprouts with onions and garlic, tangy red cabbage salad, spaghetti squash on a bed of arugula with tomato sauce, or even butternut squash pancakes!
This week at the Woodbury Farmers Market (Wednesdays 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. until September 30) and the Ridgefield Farmers Market, Mad Hatter Farm will have:
- Gourmet Lettuce Mix
- Cardinale Head Lettuce
- Spicy Greens Mix
- Arugula
- Green Beans
- Brussel Sprouts
- Eggplant
- Carrots
- Sweet Red, Yellow, Tangerine and Chocolate Peppers
- Beets
- Radishes
- Onions
- Leeks
- Winter Squashes
- Cantaloupes and Watermelons
Hope to see you there!
