Connecticut (CT) CSA More Popular Than Ever.  Eating Local Never Tasted So Good!

We still have shares available for Mad Hatter Farm's CSA (consumer supported agriculture) program.  Buying into a CSA is a powerful way to change the way you bring food to your family's table.  Vegetables purchased directly from the farm are fresher, have a better nutrient content and really taste better.   Joining a CSA helps to support your local economy - when you buy local, 80% of the money stays in your community.  When you buy from a "big box" store (in our town its Super Stop and Shop) only 20% of the money you spend stays in your community.

And in tough financial times, joining a CSA makes sense - the weekly cost of a CSA is comparable to the weekly cost of buying produce at the supermarket.  And if you are eating at home more than you did before, a CSA is the way to go -  you get better tasting and better quality produce than you would at the super market.

Its always hard to change the way we do things, but joining a CSA is a win-win - good for your community and good for your taste buds!
